Abstract: Xue Cai was a famous litterateur in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties.fter the demise of the Ming dynasty,he became a monk.he came from a distinguished family and had close relations with the Donglin Party.bout the word "Cai (寀)" in his name,many ancient and modern writings are mistaken for "Shen (宷)",and the two words are quite different in pronunciation and meaning.He kept writing all his life,he wrote more than one hundred volumes of poetry collections,edited and reviewed dozens of books.his publishing career can be roughly divided into two parts.efore the Ming dynasty perished,he was mainly involved in commercial publishing activities.fter this,he concentrated on sorting out the writings of the adherent.
